Spend time with friends who have the gift of encouragement. Your soul is like a turbulent sea. However, no one is or should…, Good Friday is the most solemn day of the year for Christians. In chapter's 38 and 39 God spends time affirming His sovereignty in both the heavens and the earth, reminding Job that he is a created being subject to a powerful and awesome Creator. Aching with the one who’s suffering, anguishing with the vulnerable, filling your face and heart with the other’s passion… that is to feel compassion, that your own heart turns, not for mere masochism, not as penance, but as an exercise of communion, as the Church’s body. He obviously doesn’t want your suffering, He’s not mad at you, your life or your story. We forget that every battle, test, tribulation and suffering was nailed at the Cross and exiled from our lives forever. This idea could be confusing to us, in fact many people through history have been puzzled since they’ve had the impression that God is there to help them in their self-fulfillment and they pretend to use Him for it. The book of Job describes a long and difficult trial he experienced. First, you have to process everything with a sense of calm. Replace them with Your humble and gentle yoke so that you will find rest in your soul today. We instead try to rapidly pass over our pains and, if after 3 or 6 months of mourning someone is still sad, we tell them “come on, it’s time to move on,” or “you have to be strong and move forward.” But, in truth, each of us has his own time and we have to respect it. That is to say, it’s not a spiritual trade in which God gives you back more than what He has taken. God has faith in us. When life gets hard, allow His voice to speak over your fears. We may never understand His wisdom but we simply have to trust His will. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.” When life gets hard, it’s important that you remember that God loves you – no matter how many mistakes you make or how many times you are angry with Him. But God knows and understands the hopes and fears we keep in our hearts. God not only defends us, but He is always present in your life, even in your lonely and broken hours. Open yourself up today to God’s blessings, healing and miracles. I’ve seen myself fabricating complicated and detailed plans and afterwards presenting them to God so that He blesses them without changing anything I’ve so intelligently prepared. He lost his possessions, his servants, and his whole family… and he even suffered a wound that stretched from his head to his feet. While we may never understand why God allows some of us to go through certain trials, we all can know for certain that God is sovereign and that He loves us through all of the storms in this life.
