A crash that closed the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) this morning has claimed a life. The highway was closed for approximately ten hours. The incident was between a semi truck and passenger vehicle. Both people in the Honda were hurt and taken to hospital, but neither had life-threatening injuries. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were killed and four others seriously hurt after a crash on Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden, B.C., Saturday. DriveBC estimates the road to reopen at noon. The collision, between two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck, happened around 5:40 a.m. Police findings indicate that an eastbound Pontiac attempted to pass a semi-truck and collided head-on with a westbound Honda.
